Top NBA Teams lose out on their star players this season

Both Miami Heat and New Jersey Nets will have two of their star players missing this season. While the Heats will miss the service of guard Dwayne Wade, the Nets will lose area guard Deron Williams.

“Wade was given a break for one day for his injury on his right ankle that has caused him a couple of times”, said Erik Spoelstra, the coach of Miami Heat. Wade had been suffering with an ankle injury which has been causing him a lot of trouble for the past few months, so the rest was very much required for him.

In the games not started by Wade, Miami Heat is 11-1.

Deron Williams is out due to the injury to his right calf he sustained during the Saturday night losing game to Boston. Things were not well for the Nets as even the backup for Williams; Jordan Farmar was out with a groin injury. The Nets had Sundiata Gaines starting out for them. Nets has been going through a tough time and losing a lot of matches.

Even Minnesota lost their forward Kevin Love. He missed the game against Indiana Pacers owing to a neck strain he suffered. This is the third straight game he missed. Love ranks fourth in NBA having 26 points per game. The game was tough and competitive.

The lack of Love was felt in the Timberwolves camp, with them losing both games. Minnesota has lost by 95-82 in their home game held on 12th April the Los Angeles Clippers. On April 14 they lost again at home to Oklahoma City 115-110. Times are indeed bad for them as they are going through a losing streak for the last consecutive nine matches.

The Washington Wizards granted leave to Roger Mason Jr., who had a surgery on his broken finger and is out for the season. Wizards have signed in guard Morris Almond as a replacement. Almond is an experienced player and has been playing in the NBA development league for four seasons. He averages 24.5 points playing there.

Meanwhile Boston Celtics lost three of its stars players Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in their game against the Bobcats. Coach Doc Rivers decided to rest Garnett and Pierce while Allen is nursing a sore ankle. So the team was totally weak and had a fewer chances to win. “Having all three of them out obviously hurts our offense,” Rivers said.

Bobcats coach Paul Silas supported the decision and said, “I’d do the same thing if I were in his situation.”

Brian Wilson to undergo an elbow surgery

All Star Giant’s star Brian Wilson will be soon undergoing an elbow surgery of reconstructive nature in Pensacola recently. Dr. James Andrews will be the doctor who will be performing the surgery. He is an orthopaedist and has performed similar kind of action to Brian during the collage days of the Giant’s star player. He will be assisted by Dr. Ken Akizuki.
Andrews has recently examined Brian and reported of a torn lunar collateral ligament. This outcome of the diagnosis will make the player sit in the benches throughout the whole season. He proclaimed that the time period of recovery is around 12-18 months in the standard cases. But it can take more time also depending upon the circumstances.
Giant is keeping all the hopes and is keeping their finger crossed for Brian. They believe that he will be healing faster and will be available for the MLB games in 2013.
“We are ready for the surgery to take place and want to get rid of the problem as soon as possible” said Bruce Bochy, manager, before the match with Philadelphia Phillies.
Bruce added, “From my experiences it takes more time to heal from the second time of the injury. But at the same time I am hoping that Brain will take over the field for the MLB seasons in 2013”.
30 year old Brian did forty eight saves in 2010 and also did the final out of the game number five of the MLB World Series. He grabbed the victory for his franchise.
Brian reported the discomfort in his elbow and soon he was sent for an MRI scan. According to Groeschner, Brain felt the discomfort on his elbow after the 32 pitch throw that he did in Colorado. But he reported the problem to the team a day after the event.
Brain has taken all necessary steps for his rehabilitation throughout the spring. Thus his injury took everyone around him by surprise.
Bochy said, “Brian will return back and will be resuming his rehabilitation process. He will be helping his teammates also.”
Bullpen took over the brains position last year and the team is very much confident about him doing well in the games. There are also other options available like Santiago Casilla for the place of Wilson in the team.
Romo said that their staffs are well equipped and they will be able to pitch in all kinds of the given situations. He added that there no pressure on the players to win the first game that was very close.

The famous basketball player named Derrick Rose was badly injured during a fourth quarter game. His appearance showed that he had been in a Bulls game which takes place at the end of the season rather than the playoff game of Blackhawks.
Rose received a hard foul from the player Charlie Villanueva as the journeyman Rose drove forward in the lane of the fourth quarter. The foul took place exactly across the nose bridge and led to severe bleeding. At the same time Villanueva even received a flagrant foul.
Rose is usually very reserved and he doesn’t comment on whatever the result of the game may be, or how the game had been won or lost. But this time, he severely reacted and his reactions showed that he was totally pissed off with Villanueva. He said, “The thing that had hit me was thought to be a basket ball.” The player Villanueva, who had hit him, had hit him intentionally in the face. Rose also notified that Villanueva was very much concerned about what he himself was doing and there was a specific reason behind it. Villanueva commented that Rose is mad.
At the same time, Rose is also believed to be sick of people who try taking cheap shots at him. In this regard he said, “Probably, I don’t talk too much and keep myself silent but if such situation arises, it may so happen that I may react in a peculiar ways if the topics are very well against me.” He said to Villanueva that he needs to keep his concentration on the ball rather than hitting the opponent players with the ball. Arsenal Wenger is quite a happy guy after his team won the over the Totteham. The best part is the team carried it out smoothly and took a stunning 5-2 victory over the team. The team owner had the best day and raved over the spirit and commitment shown by the team.
Right from the beginning of the match, Wenger’s men were with full spirit and started off with a spectacular opening. Completely excited by the victory, Arsenal is all praise for his men. It was a bad time for Franklin Gutierrez when he has suffered a partial tear of his pectoral muscle as the right chest of the player and missed the next four weeks of gaming. The news was announced by the Mariners when the fielder of Gold Glove was transported back to his home town Seattle to have an appointment with the team physician.

Due to his health issue this young player had not been able to play 92 games during the last season and in this year also he was absent in first few games. Pittsburgh Steelers must be raring to go and make a mark in the championship, but their hopes got a setback because of the injury factor of some of the key players. Maurkice Pouncey, the All-Pro center missed the crucial encounter with AFC Wild Card Game that was held on Sunday. It was always doubtful weather Pouncey would be able to play the game or not. His presence was questionable because of his left ankle injury that kept him out of action for the whole week. On Friday, it was officially revealed that he would not be available for the game against the Denver Broncos.
Just like the scenario of the last year, the replacement of Pouncey will be made by Doug Legursky. Last year, during the event of Super Bowl, Legursky was opted as the replacement. Pittsburgh Steelers will hope that this replacement works for the team and create more prospect and room for flexibility in the future.
However, the injury woes seem not to let the Steelers in a comfortable situation. There are already a lot of factors that is causing worry in the camp. When the San Diego Chargers kept coach Norv Turner and general manager A. J. Smith on board for the 2012 season despite missing the playoffs for the second year in a row it left scores of fans and analysts who study NFL betting odds scratching their heads and raising their eyebrows.

Turner has been a near debacle since taking over as coach following a 2006 season in which the Chargers went 14-2 but lost in a fluke playoff game to the New England Patriots. Coach Marty Schottenheimer was fired because Smith didn’t like him and Turner was brought in to coach what was considered to be the most talented team in football, only to run it into the ground and never make a Super Bowl. Turner had failed miserably as a head coach at Washington and Oakland and was considered to be coordinator materiel but Smith just had to have him, perhaps because he was not a strong personality like Schottenheimer.

San Diego is coming off as a team far more interested in protecting the status quo and Smith’s turf wars than in winning a championship. They have blown one of the worst divisions in football two years in a row and are likely to face stronger challenges in the AFC west starting next year.

While the Chargers stayed with the status quo, the Indianapolis Colts did not. They fired Bill Polian and his son from upper management but somehow coach Jim Caldwell hung on to his job despite the worst year in the history of the franchise. The Polian’s certainly deserved to be fired as they were exposed for having built a one man team in Peyton Manning as Manning’s absence this season due to injury showed that there was little else for the Colts to hang their hat on.

As for firings, the Kansas City Chiefs were certainly correct in cutting ties with coach Todd Haley but the problem is that they may not get the type of replacement that is necessary for them to return to the playoffs. Defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel took over for Haley and won 2 out of 3 games including a huge upset over the Green Bay Packers as the Chiefs were a far better looking team under his leadership. But there are legitimate questions about Crennel and his coaching ability after he flamed out with the Cleveland Browns as a head man. KC general manger Scott Pioli may want to keep Crennel however as he is not a dominant personality that would threaten a GM and his turf.
